Thank You to all who Attended the 2008 Healthy Foods Conference


It is seldom that such a dynamic group of industry thought leaders can be found in one room. Last week’s Healthy Foods Conference in Boston, was one such rare occasion.

Marketing healthy and cool to kids was the hot topic for A.J.Grant’s Big Green Rabbit presentation. The Emmy award winning PBS television program is proving to be a major hit among the three to eight year old set as a novel and compelling way to present health and nutrition learning to kids. You may remember the ads where Jeff Grogg from Kashi promises to eat the cardboard box his bars and cereal are packaged in, if taste doesn’t reign supreme among skeptical consumers. Grogg described how this idea came to be and his experiences as the healthier part of a major CPG company. These were just a few of the speakers at the Healthy Foods conference—others include Mary’s Gone Crackers, Izze, Mix 1, National Starch, Saatwic Foods and Ocean Spray.

All of this was presented in an environment designed to maximize participation and connections between attendees and speakers, including the Progressive Dinner and the Speed Data sessions. All were deemed a success because there were multiple points of entry to meet, greet and converse one on one with other peers, experts and industry leaders. "This was the start of a very mutually lucrative relationship", commented one of the experts.
